Job Description

Title:
Design Drafter As BE&E enters our next phase of growth, we are looking to expand our Engineering Department. We are seeking a Design Drafter to aid in our design capabilities. Growth opportunities are available. BE&E is an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of bulk material handling equipment. Industries we serve include forest products, wood pellets, biomass energy, biofuel, waste processing, recycling, and more. We design and manufacture custom equipment that you "simply won't find anywhere else" that solve unique customer requirements.
Reports to:
  • Engineering Manager through daily communication, weekly status updates, project reports, and engineering meetings.
Primary Function:
As a Design Drafter, you will play a crucial role in developing and detailing drawings made from concepts used for sales, manufacturing, and construction. Your expertise in CAD modeling, attention to detail, and mechanical knowledge will contribute to the success of our projects. A successful Drafter demonstrates a self-motivated attitude and the ability to take initiative in completing assigned duties with minimal guidance. This individual will excel by demonstrating expertise towards detailed drawings, Bills of Materials, and final production drawings promptly.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop detailed drawings.
  • Flesh out designs using input from sales quotes, other engineers, and manufacturing personnel on the team.
  • Prepare drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), finalize designs, and sending prints to the production department.
  • Support equipment production by documentation corrections as needed.
  • Use feedback and data to upgrade and improve existing documentation
  • Provide support during the building and installation process by answer questions regarding design models/drawings.
Qualifications:
  • Drafting or related degree.
  • 3+ years' experience in a drafting role or related experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized, and detail oriented.
  • CAD knowledge (SolidWorks 3D, AutoCAD 2D)
  • Document & Revision Control (SolidWorks PDM)
  • Knowledge of engineering drawing standards (ANSI, ISO, GD&T)
  • Ability to enter equipment BOMs and specifications into ERP/MRP software (E2, Epicor)
  • Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change.
Requirements:
  • Work on-site in Greenville KY (40-hour minimum per week: 5x8)
  • Ability to travel multiple times a year (Up to 10% annually)
  • Must have a valid driver's license/passport.
