• AutoCAD/Drafter Experience preferred NOT a remote position.

MUST possess a minimum 2 year degree and experience in drafting. Position is located on-site in Louisville, KY This position performs a variety of duties related to the design of gas and/or electric utilities on-site at a major gas & electric utility . The successful candidate will have an on-the-job training period under the wing of an experienced tech, after which they will work with little supervision. However, support is always available.

Responsibilities:

Duties may include, but are not limited to

• assisting with layout and design engineering work for utility construction
• performing field work such as, measuring accurately with tape or wheel
• interpreting engineering drawings
• taking basic field notes
• occasionally driving locating stakes
• minor right-of-way clearing
• preparing cost estimates using client specific software
• and other similar tasks Experience in design/drafting/AutoCAD work is required .

Essential Skills:

• Minimum of two-five years of experience in related position.
• Must be able to learn to make and read drawings and sketches.
• Must have proficient technical knowledge and skills, such as mathematics, and be able to handle difficult and multiple design assignments.
• Competent in computer/windows-based applications and possesses the ability and willingness to learn new software programs.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job which may include: walking in various types of environments; long periods of sitting at computer; and other moderate physical activity.

Valid driver's license and clean driving history required .

Requirements:

Bachelors degree required, or an Associates degree with related experience will also be considered.
