About Hubley Painting & Remodeling Hubley Painting & Remodeling is a design-build residential remodeling firm specializing in kitchen and bathroom renovations, along with select millwork and interior renovation projects. We operate in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with multiple active projects in design and construction at any given time. Our documentation must be clear, accurate, and well-coordinated to support efficient permitting and field execution. Position Overview The Residential CAD Designer is responsible for producing accurate, permit-ready construction drawings in support of our Senior Residential Designer and project leadership. This is a technically focused role requiring a high level of proficiency in Chief Architect, strong organizational habits, and the ability to manage drawings across several active projects simultaneously. This role reports directly to the Senior Residential Designer and works closely with Project Managers to ensure design intent is clearly documented and ready for construction. While the Senior Residential Designer leads all selection meetings and primary client communication, the CAD Designer will participate in field meetings and should be comfortable in a client-facing setting when on site. Key Responsibilities Construction Documentation Produce detailed floor plans, elevations, sections, and cabinetry drawings Prepare and maintain permit-ready construction sets Develop tile layouts, cabinetry details, and millwork drawings Revise drawings accurately in response to field conditions or scope changes Maintain drawing standards and organized digital project files Technical Coordination Translate approved design direction from the Senior Residential Designer into clear, buildable construction drawings Coordinate with Project Managers to verify site conditions and resolve technical questions Communicate revisions and updates clearly across the design and construction team Support internal standards for drawing consistency and file organization Qualifications Required Minimum 5 years of experience in residential drafting or architectural documentation High-level proficiency in Chief Architect (this is our licensed software — candidates must be able to demonstrate their skill level) Hands-on kitchen and bath drafting experience, including cabinetry layouts, appliance and fixture coordination, tile layouts, and an understanding of the technical details specific to those project types Solid understanding of residential construction fundamentals Proven ability to manage multiple projects across varying stages of design Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Preferred Experience in a design-build firm environment Familiarity with local permitting requirements in the Massachusetts market What We Offer Focused role with a clear scope and strong design leadership support Stable, growing residential firm with consistent project volume Opportunity for long-term professional development Health insurance Paid time off and paid holidays
Pay:
$30.00 - $38.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
