Summary:

Perform design, drafting, and other duties pertaining to the preparation of new or existing drawings for the purpose of manufacturing or other usage. Responsible for managing design/drafting projects and providing design solutions for design/development projects and product change requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage design/drafting projects from concept to completion Provides design solutions for design/development projects and product change requests Prepare product documentation, checking the dimensions of parts, material to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the whole structure. Drawings to include but are not limited to the following: System/component model, installation/layout/ weldment/assembly drawings, piece part drawings, and isometric drawings Utilize red-lined drawings, engineering change requests, and any instructions supplied to prepare revised drawings incorporating dimensional change or pertinent data Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings Uses computer assisted drawings (2D/3D CAD) equipment and software Interact with engineering and manufacturing personnel to solve any problems that may arise during the manufacturing process and to document the corrective action Participate in design reviews to determine the feasibility of proposed designs and offer opinions for product improvement Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required:

1. CAD Experience

•2-5 years on job experience 2. Primarily 3D modeling background with CAD experience 3. Individual contributor experience (owned projects, products, designs) 4. Understanding of common materials used in sheet metal enclosures 5. Understanding of common mechanical assembly processes (hardware, fasteners, riveting, welding, etc)

Preferred:

1. Experience with design in manufacturing 2. Experience with design of sheet metal in manufacturing 3. ERP/MRP experience (Bills of materials, Item setup, material management, routers)

Outliers/Exceptional:

1. Experience design work in refrigeration, with manufacturing 2. PLM (product lifecycle management) 3. PDM (product data management)

Education/Experience:

Minimum one-year college or trade school education in mechanical drawing and related areas with a minimum of two years of on-the-job experience or Minimum four years on-the-job experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or comparable CAD software (experience with SolidWorks 2008 or newer is strongly preferred)

N/A Language Skills:

Ability to read andunderstand English instructions.

Mathematical Skills:

Individuals, as a minimum, must possess basic Algebra skills

Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an office environment. It may be required that individuals work in the manufacturing area when gathering data or researching problems. This work environment may be at higher noise levels and lower air quality. Individuals may also be required to document equipment where the outside environment may be encountered as well as environments commonly encountered in air-conditioning equipment installations.
