Job Description

CAD Designer TAI's System Integration Engineering Group has proven capabilities in all phases of electrical analysis, development, and design. We support our client's electrical and controls needs with a wide range of design services on various electrical and control systems through the following engineering services: conceptual designs and scope development, cost estimation, economic evaluations, power studies, construction documents, construction administration, startup, commissioning, programming, and procurement.

Education, Degree(s), or
Certifications Required:
High School Diploma, Associates Degree in CAD is preferred
Detailed Job Description:
The CAD Designer supports the department by efficiently editing existing and producing drawings. This position receives general administrative direction from the division manager and technical oversight from the engineers, senior/lead Designers and project managers on a daily basis. Specific duties include, but are not limited to
  • Editing of electrical and controls construction drawings and documents, including single lines, power and instrument location plans, panel schedules, drawing lists, Bill of materials, conduit block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and load lists
  • Assist in conducting detailed field surveys of buildings and equipment, and documenting the existing conditions in CAD
  • Assist the surveying of existing electrical systems and updating existing drawings to as found status
  • Working closely with engineers and project managers and other designers
  • Effectively managing multiple ongoing projects and tasks
  • Complying with company and client CAD standards
  • Cleaning up backgrounds, and set up of drawings
  • Completes tasks within time allotted.
Qualifications
  • Proficient with AutoCAD 2D in model and paper space environments
  • Capacity to learn designer roles, good verbal and written communication skills, good customer relation skills, a positive work attitude, and willingness to learn new skills
  • Self-motivated and able to produce high quality results within time and budget constraints
  • Works to develop basic skills
  • Performs routine technical work which does not require previous experience
  • Acquires an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Candidates must have experience with the following software
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Auto
CAD 2013
Preferred Skills
  • AutoCAD Electrical
  • Revit is a plus
  • Electrical code
