Full Job Description General Summary:
The Jr. Stamping Engineer provides foundational technical support to the Stamping Engineering staff across a diverse range of design, manufacturing, and data analysis assignments. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to rapidly adapt to new information and engineering methodologies. As a technical proficiency increases through hands-on and classroom training, the candidate will be given opportunities to advance into complex tasks like die processing, NC toolpath generation, and die-face development.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the scanning of parts and tooling, and generate technical comparison reports to validate accuracy (may contain travel to other company locations).
  • Develop robot's 3D CAD models of solid structures and sheet metal components.
  • Create detailed 2D engineering drawings for stamping dies, components, and fixture assemblies.
  • Support team efforts to evaluate and implement innovative technologies aimed at enhancing overall engineering and DTG capabilities.
  • Offer cost-saving suggestions and actively participate in team productivity and lean improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current with emerging developments, tools, and updates within the engineering software and hardware industries.
  • Apply Value Analysis and Value Engineering methodologies to products to optimize value while reducing manufacturing costs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong operational experiencing using 3D CAD modeling software, with a specific preference for UG-NX or
CATIA V5.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn, master, and apply new engineering skills, tools, and technical methodologies.
  • Strong dedication to teamwork, punctual attendance, and maintaining open, transparent communication with peers and supervisors.
  • Solid baseline understanding of mechanical principles, spatial relationships, and manufacturing components.
Education and Experience:
  • High-School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or progress toward a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Drafting, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Practical, hands-on experience or academic coursework utilizing 3D CAD platforms within a manufacturing or tooling environment.
Position Type and Expected hours of
Work:
This is a full-time position. Standard hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with exact daily schedules determined by project deadlines and facility needs. Travel will be required as needed. This position operates in both an office and shop-floor environment and routinely requires standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
