CAD Designer Job Description We are seeking a talented CAD Designer / Design Technician to support our Building & Infrastructure consulting services. This role is essential for producing 2D AutoCAD drawings that aid in engineering evaluations, testing programs, asset condition assessments, and recommendations for repairs or rehabilitation. Responsibilities Produce 2D AutoCAD drawings based on engineering markups, inspection notes, testing data, and specialty inspection outputs. Prepare existing-conditions plans, repair and rehabilitation details, pavement layouts, and structural or building system exhibits. Work closely with licensed engineers and technical staff to ensure accuracy in report and client deliverables. Focus on design-support tasks, excluding project management, construction oversight, BIM coordination, or 3D modeling. Essential Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD and drafting for construction documentation. Hands-on experience with producing plans, sections, details, and exhibits from redlines, field notes, and engineering markups. 3-10 years of experience in 2D AutoCAD within AEC or engineering consulting environments. Experience supporting civil, structural, or building engineers. Strong understanding of construction documents and technical detailing. Ability to work from redlines, sketches, inspection reports, and field data. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
