JOB TITLE
CAD Operator
DEPARTMENT
Laser Cut Plus The CAD Operator is responsible for supporting the steel rule die production department of Embossing Plus, a Print Finishing company located in Minneapolis. Duties, Expectations, Responsibilities, goals & milestones will be defined & established per individual. Major Areas of Accountability/Key Result Areas CAD Operator Create, prepare and edit customer files to be used for production of Steel Rule Dies & Prototype samples. Assemble production artwork & dielines from internal & external customers. Create design solutions using Cimex Cim
PACK CAD
software. Cut samples utilizing a Gerber cutting system, assemble prototypes, troubleshoot designs and collaborate with other Designers. Collaborate with Creative, Project Managers and Prepress departments to identify and implement best practices for the development and editing of graphic art files and die-lines. Prepare accurate electronic templates and mockups that meet quality standards by using a combination of Adobe software and automated CAD cutting systems. Making copy change alterations to customer files. Establishes and adheres to timelines required for above tasks. Additional Responsibilities Provide Customer Service via telephone, email and in-person. Through hands on training learn to provide quotes and estimates for steel rule dies. Provide back up for purchasing production supplies. Establishes and adheres to timelines required for above tasks. Prerequisite Knowledge CAD software, Print Production or equivalent combination of education and experience. Understanding the Graphic Design/Print Production/Prep process Understanding of print industry processes helpful. Understanding of 3-dimensional sketching and engineering drawings helpful Prerequisite Skills Utilize CAD software for graphic layouts, understanding of Cim
