Position:
Develops mechanical drawings for sales, engineering, customer approval, outside vendor and internal shop fabrication on assigned projects and ensures that accurate drawings are completed according to the customer's specifications and timelines.
Major Areas of Accountability:
Prepares preliminary sales drawings by receiving quotation and submitting drawings with quotation to customer to assist in closing the sale. Consults with Engineering Manager and Salesperson to verify specifications for the order. Creates preliminary drawings based on quoted design and specifications, verifying price quotation against drawings. Drawings are shared with Engineering Manager to be submitted for approval by the customer or updated with modifications requested by the customer. Upon approval, bill of material is prepared and submitted to the Purchasing Agent. Requests drawings and models from vendors for specific components /devices included in the order/bill of material. Prepares documentation for equipment including parts list, drawings, detailed maintenance instructions for each component to ensure that the customer has complete and accurate maintenance documents and manuals for equipment. Enter all information into PDM in accordance with Scott Equipment guidelines. Documents and records all information about the design and design changes in the project folder.
