This position will take customer specifications, sketches, and concepts and turn them into accurate, buildable drawings that can be used by the fabrication and production teams. The Drafter/Designer will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and production to develop sheet metal layouts, weldments, assemblies, and fabrication details. The role may also provide support with bills of materials, material takeoffs, estimating, and quoting. Responsibilities Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for custom equipment. Develop sheet metal layouts, weldments, assemblies, and fabrication drawings. Translate customer specifications, sketches, and concepts into manufacturable designs. Work closely with engineering and production to ensure designs are accurate and buildable. Incorporate appropriate dimensions, tolerances, materials, and fabrication details into drawings. Support BOM creation, material takeoffs, estimating, and quoting as needed. Review designs and drawings for accuracy and manufacturability. Make revisions based on engineering, customer, and production feedback. Maintain accurate drawing and design documentation. Qualifications 2+ years of drafting or design experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. SolidWorks experience preferred; candidates with other 3D CAD experience will be considered. Working knowledge of metal fabrication processes, including cutting, forming, welding, and assembly. Experience with custom equipment design is a plus. Experience with material takeoffs or estimating is a plus. Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus. Associate degree in Drafting/Design, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to create accurate, production-ready drawings. Ability to work effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams.
