Job Description
Job Description The CAD Technician - Distribution Designer will assist technical teams of detailers, designers, and engineers to create world-class detail on a variety of projects in the power delivery space. This role will specialize on overhead and underground power line designs. Responsibilities Prepare new drawings and revise existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts. Adhere to company and client drafting standards and procedures. Follow the drafting practices of the selected discipline. Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects. Utilize standard drafting detail programs for assigned tasks. Contribute to continuous drafting detail improvement efforts. Research solutions to project concerns and present solutions to design problems. Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all company policies. Essential Skills Basic knowledge of commands in at least one CAD program, with the ability to occasionally use higher-level commands, time-saving programs, and routines. Experience with 4kv to 69kv overhead distribution line designs Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Demonstrated leadership skills. Self-motivated and eager learner with an aptitude to grow and develop within the field. Ability to meet deadlines and budget constraints. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor or Associate Degree in computer-aided drafting/design preferred. Basic knowledge and experience in multiple CAD systems preferred Work Environment The work environment is collaborative and team-oriented, with an emphasis on using technology effectively. The role involves working with CAD systems and Microsoft Office applications. The position requires adherence to company policies and drafting standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
