Job Description

Job Summary A regulated electric utility organization is hiring a CAD Tech III to perform transmission drafting work under direct supervision. This role focuses on creating, updating, and maintaining transmission-related drawings and diagrams to support accurate design documentation while ensuring quality, confidentiality, and effective use of organizational resources. Responsibilities Create, update, and maintain transmission substation and transmission line drawings. Draft and revise electrical, civil, structural, building, and related transmission design diagrams using CAD tools or, when required, by hand. Modify drawings based on marked prints or verbal instructions. Prepare special posters, signs, charts, maps, and reports as requested. Assist with field measurements or sketches to resolve drawing or mapping discrepancies and obtain additional information. Maintain and update records within the electronic drawing management system. Ensure the quality and accuracy of all drawings and related documentation. Protect confidential information obtained through organizational business. Use organizational resources in a safe, prudent, efficient, and effective manner. Perform work in an efficient, professional, and effective manner. Qualifications Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of some CAD-related coursework. CAD Tech III-level experience (five or more years).
