Job Description

This position contributes to the company by facilitating the creation of BIM coordination models and shop drawings, supporting quality control and constructability efforts, and helping integrate plumbing and mechanical systems into the overall construction process. The
ECM BIM/CAD
Technician supports engineering, project management, fabrication, and field operations through accurate drafting, modeling, and coordination of mechanical systems.
Job Requirements:
Trade-Specific Skills and Requirements:
1. Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in CAD Drafting, BIM, Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, or related field preferred 2. Effective and working knowledge of plumbing and mechanical systems 3. Proficient in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BlueBeam, and Microsoft Office 4. Experience with BIM coordination modeling and shop drawing creation preferred 5. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals 6. Familiarity with HVAC ductwork, piping systems, equipment layouts, and installation practices 7. Ability to pass drug and background tests, and other screenings 8. Skillfully familiar with drafting standards, coordination practices, and construction documentation 9. Ability to reach, sit, stand, kneel, crouch, bend over, walk, pull, push, step down, climb, and work for prolonged periods of time 10. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions during occasional field/site visits 11. Strong technical and mathematical aptitude related to dimensions, elevations, slopes, and system layouts 12. Detailed experience with technical drawings, coordination models, and quality control reviews preferred 13. Understanding of clash detection and coordination processes between multiple construction trades 14. Familiarity with fabrication-level detailing and constructability review processes preferred

Job Duties:
1. Carry out all duties, whether explicit or implicit, with the spirit of ECM, holding in high esteem the reputation of ECM in the construction community. 2. Develop and maintain BIM coordination models for plumbing and mechanical systems using Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and related software platforms. 3. Create shop drawings, spool drawings, installation details, hanger layouts, sleeve drawings, and fabrication documents for field installation and prefabrication efforts. 4. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, submittals, and coordination documents related to plumbing and mechanical systems. 5. Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection meetings with other contractors, subcontractors, and design teams. 6. Assist engineering and project management teams with constructability reviews and system coordination. 7. Incorporate field conditions, RFIs, ASIs, submittal information, and project revisions into BIM models and drawings. 8. Assist with quantity takeoffs, equipment layout verification, and coordination support during preconstruction and active construction phases. 9. Conduct quality control reviews of drawings and models to help ensure coordination accuracy and compliance with ECM standards. 10. Support fabrication and prefabrication efforts through accurate and constructible detailing. 11. Establish and maintain professional working relationships with customers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and ECM employees. 12. Assist with field verification and site visits when required to validate existing conditions and support coordination efforts. 13. Maintain organized electronic project files and follow ECM drafting, BIM, and document control standards. 14.
