We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and creative CAD Designer to join our innovative trade show and exhibit design team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings, 3D models, production-ready files, and visual presentations for custom trade show booths, experiential environments, and branded event spaces. Your expertise in CAD and 3D visualization software will help transform conceptual ideas into accurate fabrication and installation drawings that meet client expectations, production requirements, and venue regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide variety of custom booth builds, stage environments, retail-style activations, and exhibition projects in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Duties Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for custom trade show booths and exhibit structures using software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, Rhinoceros 3D, and related design tools Create accurate production files and fabrication drawings for custom-built booth components, including woodwork, metal structures, graphics, counters, storage rooms, hanging signs, and display elements Prepare warehouse pull lists and packing documentation for warehouse staff to support show preparation, shipping, and inventory management Produce graphic proofs and layout files for printed graphics, SEG fabrics, branding elements, and signage for client review and production Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, fabricators, and installers to translate concepts into buildable and production-ready designs Utilize SketchUp, Grasshopper 3D, 3ds Max, and other visualization tools to create realistic renderings and presentation visuals for client approvals Assist in system design and integration of exhibit components, AV elements, lighting, LED walls, and mechanical features within booth structures Prepare detailed drafting layouts for floorplans, elevations, electrical layouts, rigging plans, and installation guides Review project specifications, venue regulations, and client requirements to ensure all drawings comply with trade show standards and production capabilities Coordinate revisions and maintain organized drawing packages throughout the project lifecycle Support mock-up preparation and production coordination prior to shipping and installation Skills Proficiency in CAD and visualization software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, Rhinoceros 3D, Grasshopper 3D, SolidWorks, Bluebeam, and 3ds Max Strong understanding of drafting principles, construction documentation, fabrication methods, and production drawing preparation Experience creating production-ready files for custom fabrication and exhibit manufacturing Knowledge of trade show booth construction, exhibition systems, event environments, and venue requirements is highly desirable Ability to prepare graphic proofs and coordinate graphic production layouts Strong understanding of materials, fabrication processes, and assembly methods for custom booths and displays Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy in both 2D drafting and 3D modeling Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced production environment Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with multidisciplinary teams including production, warehouse, installation crews, and project management Join us as a CAD Designer where creativity meets technical expertise in the exciting world of trade shows and experiential design.
