Engineering Technology Full Job Description CAD Designer I Job Description:

We are seeking CAD Designers to support engineering and design projects at an industrial facility in Schenectady, NY. This position involves creating and modifying CAD models and technical drawings based on provided instructions, sketches, and layouts. The CAD Designer will work closely with engineers and other team members to produce accurate drawings while following established drafting standards and procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with CAD proficiency and a basic understanding of technical drafting. Entry-level candidates with relevant education and CAD experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities :

Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings based on engineering instructions, sketches, and layouts. Modify and revise existing drawings and models as directed by engineers or project managers. Follow established drafting practices, procedures, and technical standards. Review drawings for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with project requirements. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to understand project specifications and deadlines. Incorporate feedback and revisions to ensure accurate project documentation.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or completion of a relevant vocational or technical high school program. Proficiency in at least one CAD software program, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Siemens NX, or similar software. Basic understanding of technical drafting practices, including dimensions and tolerances. Ability to interpret technical drawings, sketches, and design instructions. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and other team members.

Additional Information:

Siemens NX is the primary CAD software used for this position. Previous Siemens NX experience is not required, as training will be provided to candidates proficient in other CAD software.
