CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a CAD Designer.

Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or related field Description The CAD Designer will develop detailed CAD models, part drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing tooling for precision fabrication processes. This role will focus on tooling and fixtures supporting grinding, polishing, and metrology operations while collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams.Requirements:
- Create and maintain 3D models, detailed drawings, assemblies, and tooling documentation using Creo
- Develop manufacturing drawings with accurate dimensions, tolerances, materials, finishes, and specifications
- Design tooling and fixtures for grinding, polishing, and metrology applications
- Apply GD&T principles in accordance with
ASME Y14.5
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, machining, and metrology teams
- Apply design for manufacturability (DFM) principles to conventional and FDM manufacturing
- Maintain CAD models and released drawings through revision control
- Interpret engineering concepts, sketches, legacy drawings, and existing hardware
- Support precision components, tolerance requirements, and manufacturing processes Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional CAD/drafting experience in precision mechanical or optomechanical environments
- Proficiency with mechanical CAD software; Creo strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and
ASME Y14.5
- Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings for precision components
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and assembly drawings using metric and imperial systems
- Experience designing tooling, fixtures, or production support hardware
- Understanding of design for manufacturability and FDM 3D printing
- Strong attention to detail and technical documentation skills
- US Citizen or US Permanent Resident required Additional Information
