CAD / 3D

Design & Fabrication Specialist to join our team on the East End of Long Island. We design and manufacture custom awnings, shade structures, canvas products, and marine canvas. Every project is different, so you won't be stuck drawing the same parts over and over. You'll see your work through from the initial field measurements and design all the way through fabrication and final installation. Responsibilities

CAD & 3D

Design Create detailed 2D and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD Develop 3D models and assemblies using Rhino 3D Create accurate digital models of existing structures and objects Develop patterns and fabrication layouts from 3D models Prepare files for our CNC cutter/plotter Revise designs based on field conditions, fabrication requirements, and production feedback Field Work & Fabrication Take field measurements of buildings, structures, boats, and other objects Use 3D scanning, photogrammetry, and related tools to document existing conditions Create digital models from measurements, scans, photographs, and other source information Develop physical or digital patterns for custom products Work with our production team to resolve design and fabrication issues Follow projects through fabrication and installation

Qualifications Required:

Experience with AutoCAD Experience with Rhino 3D or comparable 3D modeling software Strong understanding of drafting, dimensions, measurements, geometry, and scale Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to visualize how a digital design translates into a physical product Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working in an office, shop, and field environment Valid driver's license

Preferred:

3D scanning, photogrammetry, or reality-capture experience Digital or physical pattern making CNC cutter/plotter experience Fabric, canvas, marine canvas, textile, or custom fabrication experience Architectural drafting, construction, or related experience Experience with every program or process is not required. We are looking for someone with strong technical fundamentals who is comfortable learning new tools and working through unique design and fabrication challenges.

Pay:

$35.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
