CAD Operator/Drafter

Summary As a CAD Operator/Drafter, you will be integral to the design and drafting process, utilizing your expertise in AutoCAD and other CAD software to create precise drawings. You will collaborate closely with project managers to ensure that all designs meet project specifications and standards. Your strong communication skills will be essential in conveying complex information clearly. With an Associate's degree and a foundation in drafting, you will contribute to various projects, enhancing the efficiency and quality of our construction and design initiatives.

Job Description:

• Complete drawings at the direction of project managers
• Integrate and review subcontractor drawings into building design
• Coordinate drawings with on-site construction superintendent
• Field measure existing buildings
• Maintain and organize all past and present drawing records
• Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to the schedule while keeping within budget
• Assist with planning, organization, and management of the day-to-day operations, as well as other responsibilities that the project manager sees fit
• Perform site safety walks, promoting and enforcing safe work practices
• Manage customer interactions, process customer accounts, and file documents
• Follow up communication, guidelines, and policies to engage customers

Requirements:

• 1 year AutoCAD experience
• Strong graphic and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, ability to multi-task and work on different projects simultaneously
• Independent worker
• Associates Degree in architectural drafting or related field preferred
• Experience in AutoCAD architectural desktop required
• Knowledge of NYS building codes preferred
