Detailing & Coordination Manager About Us Crosby Brownlie is a family-owned Commercial/ Industrial Mechanical and Design Build contracting firm with decades of experience delivering superior mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and process piping solutions across commercial and industrial sectors. Our Detailing & Coordination Services team drives project success through detailed 3D modeling, accurate shop drawings, and seamless coordination across disciplines to support efficient construction and fabrication workflows. Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented HVAC Design & Detailing Specialist with strong CAD expertise to support our Detailing & Coordination Services team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in piping design within 3D environments, adept at producing fabrication-ready drawings, and skilled in collaborating across engineering, construction, and project management teams. Key Responsibilities Develop accurate 2D and 3D piping layouts and models using CAD platforms (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Fabrication CADmep). Produce detailed shop drawings and spool drawings for fabrication and installation. Participate in clash detection and coordination , identifying potential conflicts early and resolving issues with design and construction teams. Support BIM modeling and visualization for complex piping and mechanical systems. Collaborate with engineers, architects, field crews, and project managers to ensure design intent is correctly reflected in deliverables. Ensure drawings and models comply with company drafting standards, codes, and best practices. Assist with revisions, updates, and documentation as project designs evolve. Support pre-construction planning by generating accurate construction documents and material take-offs. Required Qualifications 2+ years of piping design and detailing experience , preferably in mechanical, process, or industrial project environments. Proficiency with CAD/BIM tools , such as AutoCAD, Revit, Fabrication CADmep, Navisworks, or similar. Strong understanding of piping design fundamentals and drafting best practices. Experience with MEP/Process Piping coordination and detailing . Excellent communication and teamwork skills , able to coordinate across departments and disciplines. Keen attention to detail with strong problem-solving capabilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology, Drafting, CAD/BIM, or a related field. Experience in clash detection workflows and coordination meetings. Familiarity with construction industry standards and documentation processes. Knowledge of fabrication and installation requirements for mechanical piping systems.
