Description CAD / Visio Drafting Technician (Part-Time Contract)
Location:
Cincinnati, OH Area (On-Site)
Duration:
Approximately October through End of Year (Contract)
Hours:
16-24 Hours per Week (Typically Wednesdays & Thursdays) Position Overview Our client is seeking a part-time CAD/Visio Drafting Technician. This individual will work directly with the Engineering Manager to create and maintain facility as-built drawings and documentation. The ideal candidate will have experience using Microsoft Visio, understand drawing scale concepts, and be comfortable updating technical drawings based on customer-provided layouts and equipment specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for a, current student, or junior drafting professional looking to gain hands-on experience in an engineering environment. Key Responsibilities Create and update facility as-built drawings using Microsoft Visio. Convert drawings into PDF format for final customer deliverables. Incorporate equipment and machine layouts into existing facility drawings. Review customer-provided drawings and accurately scale and position equipment within facility layouts. Work alongside the current CAD technician during onboarding and knowledge transfer. Make revisions and updates based on management feedback. Organize completed drawings and documentation within company file-sharing systems. Support engineering teams by maintaining accurate and up-to-date facility documentation. Required Qualifications Proficiency with Microsoft Visio. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Understanding of drawing scales, dimensions, and basic drafting concepts. Ability to accurately overlay and integrate drawings while maintaining proper scale. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree, technical certification, or coursework in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Design, Architecture, or a related field. Previous experience creating technical drawings, floor plans, or facility layouts. Experience working with PDF publishing and document management. Exposure to CAD software is a plus, though this is not an AutoCAD-focused role. Reporting Structure Reports directly to the Engineering Manager. Works independently as the sole drafting resource during the assignment. No customer-facing responsibilities. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
