Location:
Oklahoma City CAD Technician Summary:
In this role, the CAD Technician is responsible for creating detailed shop drawings, fabrication layouts, and production plans for custom stainless steel fabrication projects. The CAD Technician works closely with project managers, estimators, customers, and shop personnel to ensure designs are accurate, efficient, and ready for manufacturing. This position plays a key role in supporting production by translating project specifications into precise drawings while maintaining quality standards and meeting project deadlines.
CAD Pay Rate:
$16-$22/hr
CAD Hours:
M-F 6am-4:30pm CAD Primary Duties and Responsibilities Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for custom stainless steel fabrication projects. Develop fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings based on customer specifications and project requirements. Generate shop drawings, cut lists, bill of materials (BOMs), and production documentation. Interpret architectural, engineering, and customer-provided drawings and specifications. Collaborate with project managers, estimators, welders, machinists, and fabrication personnel to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability. Modify and revise existing drawings as required by engineering changes, customer requests, or production needs. Verify dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications for stainless steel components and assemblies. Basic Requirements for a CAD TechnicianCAD Education High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree, technical certificate, or vocational training in CAD Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related field preferred. CAD Technical Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, or similar CAD software. Ability to create and modify 2D drawings and 3D models. Understanding of drafting standards, symbols, and terminology. Basic knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and measurement principles.
