Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications. We are looking for a Designer Drafter to join our team. In this role you would be working with specifications and instructions from our Mechanical and Tooling Engineers to generate 3D CAD models and 2D drawings. Our team utilizes SolidWorks software and SolidWorks PDM, experience with this software is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create 3D CAD models and assemblies in SolidWorks from data or instructions provided from engineers Create 2D drawings as required Generate new designs and concepts per project requirements Verify parts, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks CAD are correct, complete, and ready for PDM vault storage Upload SolidWorks CAD data into PDM vault location Observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions Perform other work-related duties as assigned
DESIREDKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCES
Associate's degree, or equivalent, in Computer Aided Drafting preferred 5-10 years related experience Previous experience with a PDM or PLM system is desired. Ability to learn SolidWorks PDM quickly, required Requires thorough knowledge of drafting techniques, engineering terminology and manufacturing processes and materials Proven expertise with SolidWorks Ability to organize, prioritize and track task assignments Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications Knowledge of techniques for proper plastic part design
