Job Description

Description Ascentec Engineering is hiring a CAD Designer II. Are you motivated, hard-working, and ready to take on greater design responsibility? The CAD Designer II role expands on foundational CAD experience and introduces independent design ownership, customer interaction, and moderate technical problem-solving. This role is ideal for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and growing 3D design capabilities looking to advance in the tooling and fixture design field. This position is onsite (not remote/not hybrid) at our Tualatin headquarters and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship. AutoCAD proficiency test required in the interview process.
Requirements Job Responsibilities:
Independently produce accurate drawings and models for simple to moderately complex fixtures. Interpret engineering notes and communicate effectively with internal teams. Provide Production support and resolve minor design-related issues. Participate in internal design reviews. Assist with training Interns and Designer I team members. Maintain CAD libraries and ensure adherence to design standards. Organize, manage, and update design files according to established processes. Communicate directly with customers for drawing approvals, clarifications, and basic design questions. Other duties as defined by leadership.
Job Qualification/Experience & Technical Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD. Basic/learning-level SolidWorks skills - able to create simple parts and basic assemblies. Ability to design simple to moderately complex multi-part assemblies. Understanding of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) data. Ability to perform simple manufacturability checks and review basic print quality. Strong computer and file-system proficiency. 1-3 years of CAD or mechanical design experience, or equivalent education.

Working Conditions:
May sit for long periods of time - desk & meetings. Will occasionally walk to Production, where noise level can be low to moderate. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations will be provided to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job, absent undue hardship. Compensation/Benefits:
