Job Description

Job Summary Magee Plastics Company is seeking a CAD Designer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating 2D drawings, 3D part models, designing forming tools and CNC trim fixtures. This position is also responsible for reverse engineering OEM parts to enable Magee to produce parts, tooling, and fixtures so it can manufacture its own version of the parts and drafting of Magee or customer-designed parts. All programming is done in
CATIA V5.
Responsibilities Acquire information and ideas from production staff to guide creation of tooling models Revise and file drawings when changes are required. Generate the geometry (i.e., drawings with spatial relationships) of OEM and other parts/concepts to develop 3D models, tooling models and 2D drawings. Update master drawing list for all drawing revisions. Assign new part numbers for Magee-made parts. Coordinate with Forming and CNC departments to produce accurate tooling in a time and cost-effective manner. Discuss customer expectations with Sales associates. Maintain all customer supplied models and drawings according to MPC Document Record Control procedures. Participate in the Research and Development of new products and improvements to existing products. Requirements Associate Degree in CAD Technology or Certification in CAD Technology Ability to measure accurately using required measurement tools such as flexible rulers, callipers and micrometres, counter-sink gauges, etc. Excellent computer skills. Training and experience with CAD system (CATIA software program). Mechanical Drafting skills. Basic knowledge of tooling and the nature of forming / trimming plastic. Use of document management system (SmarTeam). In depth ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.). Pay:
$29.00 - $35.00 per hour
