Job Title:
CAD Drafter/DesignerJob Description We are seeking an AutoCAD Drafter to support the design and production of precast concrete components used in civil infrastructure projects. This role focuses on creating detailed shop drawings and production-ready plans for items such as manholes, vaults, and stormwater systems. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in civil, structural, or construction drafting who is interested in hands-on, real-world applications of design in a manufacturing and construction environment. Responsibilities + Develop detailed AutoCAD drawings for precast concrete products including manholes, catch basins, utility vaults, box culverts, and stormwater systems. + Interpret civil engineering plans, specifications, and project documents. + Create shop drawings and fabrication details for use in production and field installation. + Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and production teams to ensure accuracy. + Incorporate redlines, revisions, and client/agency feedback into drawings. + Prepare submittal packages for review and approval. + Support drafting updates based on field conditions and as-built requirements. + Maintain drawing standards and ensure compliance with industry and project requirements. Essential Skills + 2-5+ years of experience in AutoCAD with civil, structural, or construction-related drawings. + Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications. + Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects. + Proficiency with AutoCAD. + Experience with precast concrete, utilities, or underground infrastructure. Additional Skills & Qualifications + background in shop drawings, fabrication drawings, or production drafting. + Familiarity with stormwater systems, drainage, or utility layouts. + Exposure to Civil 3D or structural drafting concepts. + Knowledge of industry standards such as NPCA, DOT, or similar. Work Environment This is an onsite role based in a Simi Valley manufacturing facility. The environment is collaborative, working with engineering, production, and field teams. It is a fast-paced setting supporting active infrastructure and construction projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Simi Valley, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
