We're seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience and NICET Level I or II, III certification (or the ability to obtain it). In this role, you'll collaborate with a high-performing team, contribute to critical design projects, and help drive results across the organization. A hybrid schedule may be available based on business needs. This role requires regular work from a nearby Summit office along with a bi-weekly requirement to work in the Summit College Station office under the supervision of the Design Manager. JOB SUMMARY
The Designer position responsible for operating with minimal supervision while completing project designs and submittals. Expected to be very familiar with SFS's quality documents, procedures, and work instructions as they related to the design function.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Design automatic sprinkler systems including fire pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems using working knowledge of fire sprinkler codes. Perform hydraulic calculations for each design. Prepare submittal packages to send to (AHJ) Authority Having Jurisdiction and subsequent correspondence to achieve design approval. Participate in coordination meetings with contractor. Participate in design kick off meetings. With assistance from the Design Manager, a Senior Sprinkler Designer, or others, prepare fabrication lists for pipe fabrication vendor and requisition materials for job. With assistance from the Design Manager, a Senior Sprinkler Designer, or others, perform field surveys to ensure design is appropriate for structure. Assist field personnel with design related installation issues. Prepare and submit final job close-out documents after final acceptance testing. Understand and follow SFS's Safety program, SDS book, Hazardous communication program, policies and procedures. Employee must know where all related safety documentation is at all times on each project. Periodically attend seminars or similar education/training sessions to stay abreast of latest technology, codes, and standards changes. Communicate with internal and external customers in a professional manner. Other duties may be assigned.QUALIFICATIONS

HS Diploma or equivalent required. NICET II or NICET III and/or state required certification required. Equivalent experience will be considered assuming individual pursues NICET education.Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:
1-2 years' experience as sprinkler designer, required. Construction experience, Mechanical aptitude, basic and advanced math skills, required.Communication Skills:
Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.Systems and Software Skills:
Ability to operate a computer, use Microsoft Office required. Familiarity with AutoSprink, HydraCad and/or other CAD software, preferred.Other Qualifications:
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required. Must be able to comply with SFS's Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
