We are seeking a Technical Designer to join our team. This position can be remote although priority will be given to those who can work in our Oxnard, CA office or Dallas, TX office. In this role, you will work closely with the Project Management team to create, revise, and finalize AutoCAD/SolidWorks drawings for fabrication. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding and experience in computer-aided design (CAD) software. You must also be organized and detail-oriented, able to multitask, prioritize duties, and meet strict deadlines.JOB DESCRIPTION
Collaborate with Project Managers (PM) to interpret architectural drawings and design specifications for custom seating projects, evaluate design feasibility, and proactively identify potential aesthetic or functional issues Create accurate, production-ready shop drawings that clearly communicate design intent, dimensions, material requirements, and functional specifications for designer review, and fabrication drawings, assembly instructions, and cut lists for manufacturing Revise customer drawing sets based on PM feedback and client markups Collaborate with factory engineers and manufacturing teams to resolve design challenges, provide construction clarifications, and support successful production Review and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy and consistency between drawings and ERP/MRP systems Ensure engineering documentation, revisions, approvals, and records are accurate, organized, and up to date Develop and maintain CAD templates, drawing standards, and engineering libraries Support engineering, prototyping, and new product development initiatives through CAD drawings, 3D models, and product simulation studiesABOUT YOU
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Design, or a related field 2+ years of drafting, technical design, or similar experience Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other CAD software Experience interpreting architectural and interior design drawings and translating them into production-ready shop drawings Strong understanding of furniture manufacturing, millwork, commercial interiors, or hospitality furnishings preferred Ability to create drawings from sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions Experience with BOM management and ERP/MRP systems preferred Experience or interest in parametric modeling and CAD-to-manufacturing automation is a plus Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills Proficient with Microsoft Office applicationsPay:
