Summary:

First Cut Design & Fabrication is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to provide mechanical construction drawing sets of natural gas pipeline facilities. This position is a hybrid/remote role where occasional visits in person may be needed.

Essential Duties:

This position will report directly to the Senior Engineer (P.E.). Daily responsibilities include producing AutoCAD piping drawings packages including isometrics, two-line plan and elevation views, plot plans, site layout, fabrication and assembly, drawing details, bill of materials, structural platform and stand designs, and construction as-builts among others. Other drawings or tasks may be required to support customer requests, shop fabrication or field installation as needed.

Experience Requirements:

Must have: 5+ years Drafting experience. Experience in AutoCAD is required. Demonstrated competency in AutoCAD to perform layer control, dimensioning, create elevation drawings from 2-D plan views, and detailed assemblies. Ability to read and interpret as-built drawings. Competency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Ability to communicate via Microsoft teams. Capability to work effectively and independently from a remote location. Adaptable to fast-paced project schedules with ability to prioritize time and efficiently complete projects on schedule.

Nice to have:

Natural Gas Industry is preferred.

Education:

2-year Associates degree in Drafting or equivalent field Certificate program training with equivalent experience may be considered

Working Conditions:

Office location is in Richburg, SC. This is a M-F, 8am to 5pm role. Position will be in person, but opportunity to work remote may be considered after initial employment period and applicant is able to work productively remotely.
