Job Description

The CAD Designer will support Project Managers and the Engineering Department in the development and execution of industrial equipment projects. This position will primarily be responsible for creating and maintaining AutoCAD models, drawings, preparing project documentation, and assisting Project Managers with engineering and project-related tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proficient with AutoCAD, and comfortable working with mechanical equipment, piping systems, and technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
Create or revise AutoCAD models/drawings for industrial equipment and systems. Develop general arrangement drawings, piping layouts, equipment layouts, and other project drawings. Update drawings based on Project Manager, Engineer, customer, and manufacturing feedback. Assist Project Managers with preparation and maintenance of project documentation, drawing packages, submittals, and equipment information. Coordinate drawing revisions and maintain accurate drawing and document revision control. Work with Project Managers, Engineers, Production, Purchasing, and other departments to resolve documentation questions. Assist Project Managers with vendor drawings, equipment documentation, and technical information. Verify drawings against project requirements and established company standards before release. Support multiple active projects and prioritize work based on project schedules and direction from Project Managers. Assist with additional engineering and project coordination activities as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
Proficiency with Autodesk software and creation technical drawings. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and technical documentation. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks across multiple projects. Ability to communicate effectively with Project Managers, Engineers, Production personnel, and other departments. Ability to work independently while taking direction from multiple Project Managers. Associate degree, technical degree, drafting/CAD certification, engineering degree, or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred:
Experience drafting industrial equipment, piping systems, skids, process equipment, or similar systems. Experience creating or modifying P&IDs and piping layouts. Familiarity with mechanical components including pumps, valves, piping, instrumentation, and related industrial equipment. Experience working in a manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment. Familiarity with bills of material and engineering document control.

$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
