Job Description:
Position Summary We are seeking a Mechanical CAD Designer with experience in conveyor systems and industrial equipment design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor and managing design documentation through Autodesk Vault. Key Responsibilities Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and detailed fabrication drawings for conveyor systems and related mechanical equipment Develop layouts, component designs, and production-ready drawings based on engineering requirements Maintain and manage CAD files, revisions, and documentation using Autodesk Vault Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to support project execution Ensure designs meet quality, safety, and manufacturing standards Support design reviews, prototype updates, and engineering change requests Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation Assist with troubleshooting and design improvements for existing systems Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field 3+ years of experience in mechanical CAD design Strong proficiency with Autodesk Inventor Experience using Autodesk Vault for file and revision management Experience designing conveyor systems, material handling equipment, or industrial machinery Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Strong understanding of mechanical fabrication and manufacturing processes Preferred Qualifications Experience with sheet metal, structural steel, and weldment design Knowledge of conveyor components, motors, bearings, and material flow systems Familiarity with ERP/PDM systems Strong communication and teamwork skills Work Environment Manufacturing and engineering environment Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced setting
