FabCo is a central fabrication facility that provides custom fabricated upper and lower extremity prosthetic devices to clinics across the country. We also serve as the fabrication arm of Amputee Blade Runners, a nonprofit organization that provides free running/sport prosthetics. We work at a fast pace and in teams to foster continual training. We expect our new team members to teach as well as be taught. Experience in orthotic and prosthetic fabrication is preferred, but not necessary. Central Fabrication Prosthetic Technician Job Description The primary responsibility of a Fabrication CAD/CAM Engineer is to design, develop, and implement…… You will work closely with our fabrication technicians and cross train in the technician role.
Responsibilities Include:
Creating two and three-dimensional technical drawings Oversight of the 3D printer Rectify, modify, and carve models for production Communicate with clinicians as needed for approval of shapes/modifications Verify modifications are carried out and implemented correctly Oversee test sockets - assigning in set-up, pulling, and finishing daily. Calibrate and maintain carver Clean CAD/CAM room daily In addition, cross training in technician duties such as: laminating, finishing of laminated sockets, etc. Reads specifications to determine the type of prosthesis to be fabricated and materials and tools required. Maintains a clean and safe environment.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, or equivalent in Engineering Software background is a plus Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Effective organizational, time management and planning skills. Good interpersonal and verbal skills for communicating with others. Ability to work effectively as a team member.
