Onsite Our client is looking for a CAD Drafter to support its engineering and product development team. In this role, you will create and update piece-part, assembly, and cable assembly drawings used in new product development and improvements to existing products. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, operations, sales, and component engineering teams to make sure drawings are accurate, complete, and ready for manufacturing. What You'll Do Create piece-part, assembly, and cable assembly drawings based on engineering, customer, and sales requirements. Prepare layouts, detailed drawings, and supporting documentation for new and existing products. Update drawings based on customer requests, engineering changes, and as-built requirements. Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to ensure drawings contain appropriate notes, bills of material, dimensions, and manufacturing information. Research design issues and help identify practical solutions or alternate construction methods. Work with Component Engineering to obtain models, specifications, and technical information for cable assembly components. Prepare drawing packages and documentation used during new product testing. Verify components and parts are properly established within ERP systems. Route drawings through engineering review, approval, sign-off, and release processes. Help improve drawing turnaround times and cable assembly development cycles. Work with engineers and other internal teams to resolve drawing and design issues. What We're Looking For Approximately 1 to 2 years of college or trade school education in engineering drawing, CAD, drafting, design, or a related technical field. Equivalent education and experience may be considered. Experience using SolidWorks. Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams. Professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach. Preferred Experience Manufacturing, engineering, or product development experience. Experience with cable assemblies, fiber optics, interconnect products, or similar technical products. Familiarity with ERP systems. Experience with engineering drawing release and change processes. Basic knowledge of GD&T, tolerancing, and design for manufacturability.
