Job Description
Job Summary This position makes tool drawings on CAD for Production tools (Knobline & deep draw components) using sketches given or taking dimensions from the sample parts. Schedule TCR and other tool drawings related work based on customer's need. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- (10%) Creates CAD Drawings of parts, tools and assemblies, in 2D and 3D format.
- (20%) Measure existing part and create CAD drawing. Use proper tolerances for the function of the part in assembly.
- (40%) Work with Engineers and Designers in designing/modifying tools, assembling and troubleshooting new tooling designs, making detail drawings and follow up on making the tools.
- (5%) Assist tooling vendors for print clarification or any help they may need.
- (20%) Compiles and makes charts, overlays, exploded views and writes engineering documentation, such as bills of materials, estimates, work instructions, etc.
- (5%) Perform other drafting room activities as so directed and approved by the supervisor or manager.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains a clean and effective computer environment including file structures, drawings and document control, etc.
- Participate in team's activities. Education and Experience Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years mechanical drawing experience, preferable on AutoCAD and Creo software.
- A working knowledge of engineering documentation, the ability to contribute and work on teams, a thorough understanding of tolerancing, how it is applied and ANSI Y 14.5, and a general exposure to geometrical tolerancing are also required.
- Understanding of general machining practice in tool manufacturing.
