Job Description

Position Overview Grasso Gay Architects is a classically focused, team-oriented architecture firm looking for an experienced Architectural Designer/Drafter to guide our projects from initial planning through completion. This position will begin as a 30-hour-per-week contract role with the opportunity to transition into full-time employment. The ideal candidate has 4-5 years of architectural project development and management experience, with strong knowledge of construction documents, and the ability to take a project through all its phases successfully while coordinating team members, schedules, and project documentation. The work schedule is flexible, provided that deadlines, meetings, and project needs are consistently met. In addition to this, we're looking for a unique fit - a positive, proactive team player who thrives on unique projects, collaborates well, manages time efficiently, and loves the work! Key Responsibilities Producing drawings and managing architectural projects through Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Permitting, Bid and Negotiation, and Construction Administration. Develop and maintain project schedules, deliverables, and work plans. Coordinate architects, designers, engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors. Participate in project meetings and document decisions, responsibilities, and next steps. Review drawings, specifications, and other project documents for accuracy and completeness. Coordinate permitting processes with reviewing agencies. Support construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, site observations, and change order documentation. Maintain organized project records and ensure work meets firm standards and client expectations. Assist in the development and maintenance of office CAD/drawing standards. Logging time worked regularly (daily). Qualifications 4-5 years of project Architectural Designer / Drafter experience within an architecture firm or architectural environment. Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field required. Strong understanding of architectural design phases, construction documents, permitting, and construction administration. Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, and team members simultaneously. Strong written, verbal, organizational, and client-service skills. Proficiency with AutoCAD required. Experience with Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite and other project-management and architectural software a plus. Architectural licensure or progress toward licensure is a plus but not required. Team player who enjoys working with others.
