Job Description

Overview The CAD Technician supports the project managers and field surveying personnel in the production of field surveying data. This role is responsible for assisting with data production, exhibit production and general field operations to ensure survey work is performed accurately, efficiently, and safely. Duties Assist the project managers with all CAD related operations, including survey field data and exhibit production, administration of project documents, and coordination with design/construction teams. Create field surveying points, lines, alignments, etc. in AutoCAD and Civil 3D for the purpose of providing the necessary data for field surveyors. Interpret construction drawings, submittals, specifications, etc. for the purpose of accurately assisting all field operations. Prepare, charge and maintain equipment for field personnel. Ensure the adequate stock of all necessary surveying materials. Immediately report discrepancies, damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, or unclear instructions to the project managers. Experience Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred, or demonstrated willingness and ability to learn Civil 3D for basic survey data review, drafting support, and coordination with office staff. Basic understanding of measurements, directions, and construction terminology preferred. Willingness to learn surveying methods, procedures, and field equipment operation. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely. Valid driver's license preferred, depending on project requirements. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods. Physical ability to lift, carry, and handle survey equipment and materials.
