CAD 3D Modeling / Drafter

Job Description

For more than four decades, Gaston & Wyatt has built custom architectural millwork for some of the most demanding luxury residential projects in the country. Kitchens, libraries, paneled rooms, and exterior work bound for New York, Palm Beach, Boston, and beyond. Every one of those jobs starts as a model and a set of drawings. What You'll Do Review and interpret design criteria to build 3D models for projects of widely varying type and scale Produce accurate, detailed shop drawings from architectural drawings, with a working understanding of how the shop actually builds Coordinate with the engineering team on approval and design documents, and generate the detailed drawings manufacturing works from Communicate with project managers, architects, and general contractors to verify conditions and confirm solutions Support manufacturing through the build, answering questions and resolving discrepancies before they reach the floor Manage your own schedule and priorities across multiple active jobs, and assist with field measuring as needed What We're Looking For Required Three to five years of relevant drafting or modeling experience Working knowledge of 3D parametric modeling software, ideally Autodesk Inventor Solid grasp of drafting standards, including dimensioning, and of fabrication practices Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the judgment to work well with team members, customers, and vendors alike Detail-driven, organized, and comfortable taking a problem head on rather than passing it along Proficiency with Microsoft Office and genuine comfort with technology Preferred College or technical school degree, or equivalent hands-on experience Background in an architectural firm, wood products plant, or millwork shop Focus on high-end, highly detailed work where quality is the whole point What We Offer Medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with company-paid life and disability insurance 401(k) with company match and profit sharing, fully vested at five years Paid time off that grows with your tenure, plus six paid holidays each year A documented career path, weekly pay, and a team that teaches what it knows and stays a long time If you want your drawings behind work that outlasts you, and you would rather solve the hard detail than avoid it, apply today for the 3D CAD Designer / Drafter role at Gaston & Wyatt.
