Job Description
Performance Objectives Deliver complete, interference-free 3D models and drawings for HVAC assemblies so manufacturing can release first-article parts within 10 working days of design freeze. Reduce design-related production delays by capturing and resolving 95% of fit, tolerance, and BOM issues before release. Convert engineering change notifications into updated CAD packages that keep production lines running without stoppages. Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality to iterate models until they meet performance, cost, and sustainability targets on the first physical prototype. Maintain a living library of standard components and parametric models that shortens new-product design cycles by at least 20%. Document models so downstream teams can generate accurate BOMs, work instructions, and inspection criteria without additional clarification. Environment & Resources You will report to Design Engineering leadership and work alongside HVAC, controls, and manufacturing engineers. You will use industry-standard CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent), PDM, and the company's QMS. Access to prototype shops, test labs, and cross-functional product teams is provided. Essential Qualifications Proven ability to produce manufacturable 3D CAD models of complex mechanical assemblies (sheet metal, piping, welded structures) that have gone into production. Hands-on experience translating refrigeration, evaporative-cooling, or large HVAC designs into accurate drawings and BOMs. Skill at identifying and resolving geometric interferences and tolerance stack-ups before they reach the shop floor. Comfort working from ECNs, production schedules, and quality records to keep models current. Clear communication with engineers, technicians, and suppliers to close design loops quickly. Role Selling Points Direct impact on products that measurably reduce customers' energy and water consumption. Work on next-generation data-center and agricultural climate systems with dedicated R&D resources. Inclusive, high-growth environment with tuition reimbursement, conference support, and a 401(k) match. Public company committed to sustainability as a core business strategy.
