Job Description
SUMMARY Designs new or special products, new developments, or modifications by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Utilizes computer aided drafting techniques to perform applicable drafting work. Makes required calculations to determine and establish acceptable standards of performance, material selection, type of construction, etc. Prepares sketches or drawings, set up specifications, and other pertinent design data for layout drawings. Performs all necessary investigations pertinent to the design and maintains reference criterion incidental to design. Analyzes manufacturing and material costs. Develops designs that can be produced economically to maintain or improve E.K. Machine's competitive position Follows up on the construction and testing of projects and assists with analyzing results. Performs corrective re-designing when required with guidance.QUALIFICATIONS

Three to five years related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using computer applications, including Solid Works, Auto Cad, and Microsoft Office and drafting software.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.BENEFITS
