The ideal candidate will lead process support for Steelmaking, providing guidance to shift crews to produce good quality steels according to the most up-to-date, state-of-the-art procedures to meet the business goals of ArcelorMittal Calvert.The Basics:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, metallurgical, materials, chemical, or mechanical Basic technical knowledge of Steelmaking Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)The Extras:

Monitor and evaluate Steelmaking performance, to include production, cost, and quality key performance indicators (KPI's); identify appropriate counter measures in case of non-achievement of KPI's Optimize Steelmaking productivity, capacity, energy, and consumption by monitoring industry best practices for Steelmaking processes Collaborate with Technology team to perform product trials; provide process expertise to technology team for improvement project implementation Interface and communicate with maintenance team members and other members of steel making facility, to include EAF, LMF, RH, and Refractory Write and update work instructions for Steelmaking operations; organize related HIRAC review Take ownership to seek and correct actions for process outliers Coordinate Steelmaking activities with Steelmaking Area Manager, Team Manager and Specialists Lead and support continuous improvement activities including data collection, analysis to identify trends and outliers in production and performance parameters Ensure Steelmaking complies with environmental and safety regulations Lead/participate in incident root cause analysis and corrective actions for failures, to include safety incidents, environmental deviations, quality deviations and production losses Count, Order, and Maintain Steelmaking inventory needs Demonstrate the company values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and Sustainability Fulfill the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment Fulfill the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment Demonstrate commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment that embodies trust and respect Ensure working knowledge of competencies as defined inISO 14001

Office and Industrial setting in the Steel Making facility Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads People with heart pacemakers or any other electronic medical device are strictly prohibited from entering the furnace area. These devices include implanted pacemakers or implantable cardiac defibrillators where the device may be affected. Individuals identified to potentially work in EMF affected areas should identify the specific device they have as part of a medical history and manufacturer's recommendations should be followed.Please note:
