Chemical Engineer Description:
The Chemical Engineer will work in a manufacturing environment supporting engineering, quality, and manufacturing. They will work with technicians and other engineers to perform parameter development, operation, analysis, and testing of advanced electrochemical processes to produce high-temperature coatings and components for aerospace, defense, and other industrial applications. They will collect and analyze process data to improve the efficiency and yield of the process. Development will be conducted on new products and processes but also in support of production. They will produce and revise work instructions, project reports, and proposals/quotations. They will manage projects from quotation through quality inspection and shipping; project management and customer communication skills will be necessary. Manufacturing will be conducted under AS9100D quality system requirements.Education Requirement:
BS (MS or PhD preferred) in Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or similar.Work experience:
Two years manufacturing or research experience desired, with special consideration to those candidates with electrodeposition or molten salt experience.Skill requirements:
Strong understanding of chemical process engineering principles Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills High level of attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Ability to quickly learn unique manufacturing processes Ability to work in an industrial/manufacturing environment Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Preferred skills: Electrodeposition/electrolysis experience Molten salt experience Aerospace and defense industry experience Procedure/work instruction generation and revision experienceISO9001/AS9100/NADCAP
