Job Description

Engineering Technician 1, with
Work/Life Balance Days/Hours:
6am-3pm Monday - Friday Essential Responsibilities This position assists the Engineering team with product and process development for new product introductions, line transfers, and sustaining projects.
Core Technical Duties Testing & Execution:
Execute engineering studies supporting feasibility, process development, design verification and validation (V&V), and sustaining changes.
Prototyping & Builds:
Build prototypes, development samples, and controlled engineering builds.
Sample Management:
Prepare, condition, label, and handle test samples according to instructions while maintaining complete product traceability.
Equipment Operation:
Operate tensile test equipment, vision measurement systems, and basic metrology tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
Process & Test Validation:
Support and execute process validations, test method development/validations, root cause analyses, and assembly line development.
Data Analysis & Documentation Protocol Review:
Review and provide actionable feedback on assigned protocols, test plans, and data collection plans.
Data Handling:
Perform test data analysis, identifying unexpected results and protocol deviations.
Statistical Analysis:
Organize data using Excel and Minitab to generate tables, graphs, basic descriptive statistics, and clear study results.
Laboratory & Operations Management Lab Ownership:
Maintain day-to-day ownership of the engineering laboratory, including 5S organization, material storage, and sample disposition.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Communicate study status, risks, and issues to deliver work on schedule. Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations on documentation, training, and continuous improvement.
General Support:
Perform other duties as assigned by management. Required Education & Experience Education & Core Experience Associate degree, High School Diploma, or equivalency. 3+ years of process and manufacturing technician experience and testing Medical device or similar regulated i ndustry experience Proven ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes using scientific principles and resolve production quality issues. Experience strictly following work instructions, process documentation, and safety procedures to ensure high-quality output and safe equipment operation. Capable of accurately completing production paperwork and maintaining strict inventory accuracy. Soft Skills & Competencies Team-driven attitude with a commitment to supporting department initiatives, such as 5S methodologies. Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
