full-time 6-Month Contract | Onsite | San Diego, CA Our client, a growing biotech company in San Diego, is seeking a Downstream Process Development Associate to join their Technical Operations team on a 6-month contract. This role supports pilot-scale operations for viral vector and gene therapy products. Responsibilities Join a highly driven Technical Operations team advancing novel biopharmaceutical treatments and cutting-edge gene therapies. Own downstream purification at both pilot and production scales, executing chromatography, ultrafiltration, and TFF operations. Lead manufacturing investigations, perform root-cause analyses, and drive process improvements to support seamless technology transfers. Qualifications 4-6 years of hands-on process development or biomanufacturing experience, with a focus on chromatography, TFF, and depth filtration. Strong understanding of cGMP/GDP standards, with experience authoring batch records, SOPs, and campaign summaries. Proven ability to navigate Quality Systems and ERP platforms to support biologics manufacturing investigations. B.S. degree in Biology or a closely related scientific discipline. This is a 6-month, onsite contract role based in San Diego, CA.
