In this particular position, the intern will contribute to the modeling of degradation mechanisms in proton-exchange-membrane electrolyzers. The goal is the accurate prediction of the aging kinetics for iridium in the Anode catalyst layer, under various operating conditions.
As part of Bosch Corporate Research, we are dedicated to long-term fundamental investigations of transformative energy technologies. Our modeling team supports global experimental efforts with fundamental understanding, emphasizing innovation and high technological impact. Using both internal funding and government grants, we collaborate closely with a network of leading computational and experimental teams which includes top universities, national labs, and industrial partners. We strongly encourage high-impact publications and patent applications.
Minimum GPA of 3.0The candidate should have a strong foundation in computation and mathematics with a focus on electrochemistry, heat transfer, mass transfer, and chemical kinetics.
Attention to detail, flexibility, creativity, excellent communication, and teamwork skills are a must.
Knowledge of PEM electrolysis electrochemistry is highly desirable.
Additional InformationThe U.S. base salary range for this intern position is $41.00/hr - $55.00/hr. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, type of degree, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, type of position, job location, etc. Your Hiring Manager can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.

QualificationsRequired:
Pursuing a graduate degree at a top university in applied mathematics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.Minimum GPA of 3.0The candidate should have a strong foundation in computation and mathematics with a focus on electrochemistry, heat transfer, mass transfer, and chemical kinetics.
Attention to detail, flexibility, creativity, excellent communication, and teamwork skills are a must.
Desired:
Significant research and/or coding experience, preferably with fluency in PythonExperience building electrochemical models of complex systems including interface kinetics, diffusion, and phase change.Knowledge of PEM electrolysis electrochemistry is highly desirable.
