Hartford County Salary:
$100-140k+ based on experience Position Overview We are seeking a Process Engineer to support the manufacturing of precision aerospace components by developing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing processes. This role partners closely with production, quality, engineering, and inspection teams to optimize manufacturing methods, improve product quality, reduce costs, and support new product introductions. Responsibilities Develop and maintain manufacturing process plans using customer drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements. Create operation sheets, process documentation, and CAD models (Siemens NX experience preferred). Provide technical support to CNC machining, inspection, heat treat, plating, deburring, shot peening, and other manufacturing operations. Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to improve quality and reduce scrap and rework. Support new product introduction (NPI), process development, and First Article Inspection (FAI) activities. Design manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and special gages to improve production efficiency. Review engineering and production data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflow, productivity, quality, and on-time delivery. Support Lean Manufacturing, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 2+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience; aerospace manufacturing preferred. Experience supporting CNC machining processes including milling, turning, and grinding. Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and customer specifications. Experience with NPI, process development, and manufacturing documentation. Siemens NX CAD experience preferred. Experience working with aerospace materials including aluminum, steel, titanium, and nickel alloys. Excellent troubleshooting, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
