$100,000.00- 115,000.
Responsibilities:
Sr.Process Engineer Responsibilities:
Develop, evaluate, and improve methods for complex manufacturing processes related to part fabrication of copper, steel and products. Actively work with engineering, quality, and shop floor personnel to develop standards and problem solve processing issues Evaluate new product requests, develop process and routings, follow through to shipping Develop new processes as well as change processing routers as needed to accommodate available resources. Work collaboratively with quality in evaluation of customer return and creation of rework for non-conforming material. Effectively plan and execute improvement projects that drive sustained results. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected Strong adherence to Wieland Safety Culture Develop new and rework process routings for new and existing products.Process Improvements:
Evaluate processing issues, create rework steps, non-conformance, and new processing steps in the system. Assists in all quality audit functions from both customers and outside surveillance audits. Work collaboratively with production and laboratory personnel to support root cause analysis investigations of quality, Safety and process problems including use and coaching of statistical analysis for data driven problem solving Review mechanical properties of processed material to meet customer specifications and make processing changes as needed. Support Sales and Technical Service needs as related to customer expectations, including dimensional layouts and capability studies, and root cause investigation. Work collaboratively with quality in addressing customer complaints and rejections. Develop and assist with creation and auditing of standard processes Assist manufacturing with procedures, processing, and material issues. Conduct experiments to develop processing parameters for new items or new alloys and also to evaluate the cause of non-conformance. Other duties as assigned. Sr.Process Engineer Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or science- Preferred
- Material Science. 5-7 years' experience in a metals processing engineering role or similar work experience equivalent. Preferred
- Advanced metallurgical understanding of metal (mechanical properties, crystalline structure, etc.) Familiar with ASTM standards for copper base and Stainless Steel and able to interpret standard. Familiar with SAP ERP system (preferred) Preferred
- Experience in the metals processing industry for copper-base and stainless-steel alloys Preferred
- Understanding of metals processing equipment such as rolling mills, annealing furnaces, leveling lines, slitting equipment and their capabilities.
ISO 9001, TS 16949
standards (internal auditor certification) Effective Root Cause analysis skills Familiarity with SPC, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, and Quality Improvement Techniques. Ability to effectively communicate to customers, their needs and their requirements Certified Six Sigma- Minimum
- yellow belt
- preferred Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences Work Environment is a Manufacturing facility with a Laboratory. Ability to communicate effectively to customers and all levels of the organization while handling confidential information. Basic Understanding of Electroplating of metal strip products
