Bedford Park Idea Lab, IL Workplace type: On Site We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious student to join our R D team for summer 2027! As the Industrial CSPI Technical Intern , you will focus on providing technical support to existing customers and developing new product solutions for industrial market applications. This role will collaborate with various internal resources to design experiments, create technical data and develop value added solutions that highlight our industrial innovation product portfolio and align with consumer trends.What you will do:
Conduct searches on prior art (literature, patents), and current technology including competitive activity on related projects, and summarizing the outcomes in appropriate report Perform laboratory experiments, conduct data analysis and interpret results to make recommendations to project team and support the project Coordinate, summarize and report data generated from these experiments Record data in the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and other archiving databases as appropriate; effectively communicating results to project teams and partners Present research findings to management with recommendations for future New Product Development or Applied Research projects at completion of internship period What you will bring: Ability to work 40hrs per week during the summer internship term Demonstrated experience with wet chemistry laboratory Knowledge of common paper and packaging manufacturing processes, process chemicals and development, polymer chemistry preferred Interpersonal, verbal and written technical communication skills, e.g. making presentations and writing technical data/reports Reliable transportation required to get to and from facility each work day Who you are: Eager to explore careers in the paper and packaging industry Ability to work collaboratively with peers and others Creative problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset Desire to see and create results To be eligible for consideration, candidates must: Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Ingredion does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position or to provide this position as OPT or CPT. Be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Paper Science or Engineering or a related field with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferred. If currently enrolled in an undergrad status, must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.
