Job Title:
Production Chemist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Production Chemist to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful chemical synthesis and production processes in our facility. Responsibilities Perform chemical synthesis on a multi-kilo scale and execute via batch record. Maintain documentation standards to meet GMP requirements, including recording charges/transfers and documenting key observations. Set up, operate, and clean all plant equipment, including reactors, centrifuges, filter dryers, shelf dryers, and milling equipment. Participate in staging raw materials, loading into equipment, and unloading intermediates and products from dryers. Read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and effectively communicate in a group setting. Collaborate with Chemical Engineers to produce R D API. Essential Skills Proficiency in GMP, GLP, and pharmaceutical quality standards. Experience with chemistry and batch record management. Familiarity with reactors, centrifuges, chromatography, and wet chemistry. Ability to read batch records and perform manual compounding. Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office. Mechanical aptitude and basic math proficiency. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associates or Bachelor's degree in chemistry or engineering preferred. Experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or food production facility preferred. SAP experience is a plus. Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and working with reactors is desirable. Willingness to handle chemicals with appropriate safety controls. Capability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt flexibly to changes. Willingness to undergo annual physical and drug screenings. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Plaines, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
