Job Description

Rolls Royce Motor Cars seeks a Control System Safety Engineer to ensure the safe design and operation of control systems for ultra luxury vehicle manufacturing. You will define and implement functional safety concepts, perform risk assessments, FMEA and HARA, and validate safety functions across production and test systems. Working closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams, you'll develop safety requirements, oversee commissioning and change control, and ensure compliance with
ISO 26262/IEC 61508
while driving continuous improvement in a precision, craftsmanship driven environment. Responsibilities Design and review safety critical control system architectures for manufacturing and test equipment Perform hazard analysis, risk assessment, FMEA and HARA for control systems and processes Define and maintain functional safety requirements and safety concepts in line with
ISO 26262/IEC 61508
Lead validation, verification, and testing of safety functions and interlocks Support commissioning, change management, and root cause analysis for control system incidents Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to embed safety into new and existing systems Prepare and maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance evidence for audits Drive continuous improvement of control system safety standards, tools, and procedures Required Skills Control system design Functional safety (ISO 26262 / IEC 61508) Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) Hazard and risk analysis (HARA) Programmable logic controllers (PLC) Embedded control systems Safety requirements specification Testing and validation Safety instrumentation and sensors Technical documentation
