The 1st shift Injection Master Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining injection molding machines and systems that are used in the production of automotive parts and components. This role involves ensuring the efficient and accurate molding of plastic parts and components used in various automotive systems.
Responsibilities:
Injection Molding Operations:
Set up and monitor a wide variety of production equipment Adjust machines and equipment within defined parameters to achieve conformance to specifications Development of New Model injection processes, supporting trials when needed Physically installs injection molds and required equipment onto molding machines in preparation for upcoming manufacturing campaigns. Direct continuous improvement initiatives related to meeting scrap, cycle time, and productivity targets Complete any other tasks as directed by supervisor.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Troubleshoot injection equipment for simple or complex injection issues Correct any equipment issues related to injection process Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on equipment Program and troubleshoot robotic equipment related to the injection process (Yasakawa, Motoman, etc) Collaborate with maintenance teams to perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance
Quality Control and Inspections:
Perform quality checks on molded parts, ensuring they meet specified standards and tolerances Perform quality checks on molded parts, ensuring they meet specified standards and tolerances Document and report defects or issues to management and adjust processes accordingly Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner to ensure compliance Create injection parameter sheets for new model products to ensure smooth transition to mass production
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Maintain and promote proper 5S throughout the department
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other production staff to meet production targets Report any production delays, maintenance issues, or safety hazards promptly Communicate effectively to ensure that production timelines and quality standards are met Create detailed training plans for injection technicians of all levels to grow them to desired level Communicate with vendors to negotiate prices and/or improve equipment status
Skills/Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Experience:
Prior experience in injection molding or manufacturing is highly preferred Knowledge of injection molding processes, machinery, and tooling is preferred
Technical Skills:
Mechanically inclined Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to injection molding is preferred. Advanced knowledge of molding materials, including plastics and resins used in automotive manufacturing is preferred. Operation of overhead cranes for movement of injection molds. Knowledge of injection tool & dies configuration related to injection process Injection process training (Paulson, RJG, or equivalent)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry materials or parts, sometimes weighing up to 50 lbs. Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Comfortable working at elevation up to 20 feet Ability to work overtime when required

Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to train others on injection technician duties
