Job Description
PURPOSE:
Assure Wyman-Gordon's Quality systems and procedures satisfy government and customer requirements, and assure compliance of product shipped to contractual requirements.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Drive error-free and effective implementation of QMS System
- Drive implementation and improvement in Statistical Process Controls
- Train employees at all levels of the organization in Statistical Process Controls and root cause problem solving methods
- Drive FMEA to improve the quality and reliability of the process
- Support investigations and atypical events, as well as resulting corrective or preventive action implementation
- Root cause analysis facilitation/participation
- Build reliability into Operations equipment and processes
- Identify and implement process & safety improvements
- Point of point of contact with customers, regulatory, and government agencies on quality related issues, and audits
- Maintain Quality System documents, including issuance, revision, approval, distribution, archival, and document retention.
- Coordinate document changes through the Design Change Notice (DCN) process.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- BS minimum, MS, or 3-5 years of experience in quality related functions preferred
- SPC\Process Controls Experience
- FMEA
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and teamwork across functional boundaries
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of forging processes is preferred
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to convey technical and conceptual material to individuals at all levels in customer organizations as well as within Wyman Gordon.
- Proficiency at multi-tasking.
- Detail oriented.
- Good math skills.
- Able to solve complex issues, mental concentration for sustained work periods, patience and leadership.
